The Alum Rock Women and Children's Center not only provides two meals a day for their students, but for the Asbury Family Center as well.  It is difficult to store the amount of food necessary to accommodate this group.  A new walk-in freezer will help to better provide for the students in Teen Challenge.
  • Repairing Living Room Windows ~ Estimated Cost: $955.49
Weather and water damage has destroyed the two living room windows, making it nearly impossible to see out of.  The double-paned windows need to be replaced.

  • New Kitchen Stove / Oven Units in 13 Apartments ~ Estimated Cost: $339 each

The stoves that are currently in each apartment date back to the early 70's and as you can imagine, are experiencing a few technical problems such as oven doors having to be taped shut, leaking or broken gas lines and other damage which makes parts of the unit unusable.  These Stove / Oven Units are undersized models for small apartments.

  • Ceiling Fans Installed In Every Apartment ~ Estimated Cost: $4,128

Ceiling fans would make it much more comfortable for the residents of the Asbury Family Center during the summer months. The eight 2-bedroom apartments will have 3 ceiling fans in each, and the four 1-bedroom apartments will have 2 ceiling fans each.

  • Remodel & Repair Bathrooms ~ Estimated Cost: $8,450
The 13-unit apartment complex has been occupied by Teen Challenge for the past 7 years, and time has taken its toll on the bathrooms. Water damage has begun to erode the walls and flooring, water pressure fluctuates, and sinks and faucets drip.  This is an immediate need before further damage takes place.  Every bathroom must receive a new shower, tiling, toilet, faucets and nozzles, as well as repairs to any wall or flooring damage.

There are several places throughout the campus where water has seeped through the ceiling after a hard rain.  The roofing has now been repaired in those areas, but the water damage remains. The worst of this damage is in the chapel.

  • Repair and Upgrade Dormitory Bathroom ~ Estimated Cost: $1,700.00
The showers in the upstairs dormitory have caused some water damage to the flooring, which is directly above the kitchen.  The water damage must be repaired immediately before becoming a sanitary issue in the kitchen.  This project will also require new shower installation.
